Pretty church wedding in Bolton

Church wedding in Bolton

It was back on Saturday 29th August last year (2015) when we did all the venue dressing for Laura & Michael’s intimate church wedding in Bolton.  We decorated both the church for the ceremony itself and also the reception venue which was the Willows function suite in Blackrod near Bolton.

Laura 1st contacted me in January 2014 via our facebook page and from the outset she knew exactly what she wanted.  She’d been impressed with our work that she’d seen and booked us for her wedding very quickly.  She’d decided on a colour scheme of purple.  All she needed was a little help with deciding on her centrepieces.  She had a very good idea of what she wanted but just wanted to be 100% sure, so I invited her to come for a chat and offered to do her a couple of mock-up table centrepieces.

A couple of weeks later Laura came to meet me and absolutely loved the table centrepieces I had done for her to see.  She decided on cube vases with floating candles for the top table and cylinder vases with orchids and floating candles for the guest tables.  We had a really nice chat and she was really excited about her wedding.  I even got to see a photo of her wedding dress and it was gorgeous!  I knew this was going to be a lovely wedding and couldn’t wait.  August the following year seemed ages off but I knew it would come around quickly!

Laura and I kept in touch at regular intervals in the lead-up to the wedding, making tweaks here and there.  Laura was very organised and such a pleasure to deal with.

The big day arrives!

After months and months of preparation, Laura & Michael’s big day had finally arrived, yippee!  We had a long day ahead of us with 2 venues to decorate and transform, but we couldn’t wait.  Our 1st port of call was Bank Top church in Bolton.  I’d never been to this lovely little church before and to be honest I never knew it existed!  But what a pleasant surprise!  The church is so cute.  It’s very small and intimate with a real community feel, so I can see why Laura & Michael chose to get married here.  If you’re looking to have a small church wedding in Bolton then this little church is ideal.  We were greeted by Laura’s mum who let us into the church and we quickly set about setting up the chair covers and sashes.  We finished off by laying out our beautiful ivory aisle carpet and decorating it with purple and ivory faux silk petals, adding a love heart to the top end with the couple’s initials inside, awwwwe.  It looked so pretty and completely transformed.

We then made our way over to the Willows function suite in Blackrod to make a start on decorating the room where the wedding reception was to be held.  There was a lot to do and our 1st task was to put on all the chair covers and sashes.  We then set up our beautiful vintage style sweet cart including all the sweets Laura had chosen and we supplied, finishing off with the lovely table centrepieces, table runners and table swags.  The room looked stunning and all the staff, and even the wedding DJ who was setting up just before we left, said what a wonderful job we’d done and that it looked beautiful, so we were really pleased that our hard work had been recognised.  Job well done!

Feedback from the happy couple

Following on from Laura & Michael’s pretty church wedding in Bolton, I got in touch with Laura, just as I always do with my couples to check if everything was ok for them.  Laura said they were more than happy with all that we did, that the venues looked fantastic.  She went on to leave us a glowing review on our external reviews site:-
